Call for Papers – JCPA Special Section: “Policy Innovation”JCPA Special Section: “Policy Innovation” We are delighted to announce the relaunch of the Policy Innovation Section in the Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis (JCPA) and invite you to contribute to this growing space for research on Policy Innovation. In an era of unprecedented policy challenges—from climate change and economic inequality to technological disruption—the demand for innovation in policy is ever-growing. Yet, despite the increasing attention to policy innovation, comparative perspectives remain underdeveloped. Our section aims to address this gap by fostering research that examines how different types of policy innovations emerge, diffuse, and succeed across different policy contexts. The Policy Innovation section of JCPA seeks to advance these conversations by fostering comparative policy analytic research which explicitly adhere to the Journal’s Aims and Scope that, among others:clarifies conceptual foundations and theoretical underpinnings of the field;develops and applies novel methods for studying policy innovation;assesses policy innovation across jurisdictions, policy domains, and time;investigates the interplay between technological development and policy innovation;examines the effects of policy innovation on equity, inclusion, and justice; andexplores neglected contexts and domains, especially in the Global South. In our introductory editorial (available here), we outline the vision for this section and the key directions we aim to explore. We invite conceptual, empirical, and review articles that push the boundaries of our understanding of policy innovation. Submission guidelines can be found on the Journal’s website. Please feel free to write to us in case you have questions or would like to discuss a potential submission. Alternatively, you may directly submit your article through the JCPA submissions portal for the Policy Innovation Special Section. We look forward to advancing the study of policy innovation together with you. Since its inception in 1998, the JCPA has been the leading journal dedicated explicitly to comparative policy analysis, fostering a vibrant international community of scholars. JCPA is published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis (3.9 Impact Factor; 6.9 Cite Score EBSCO; Q1 Impact Factor Best Quartile). For more on the JCPA see here.
